Samsung to construct chip production plant Renowned South Korean company,Samsung Electronics,is getting ready to construct a chip production plant in the country to boost its
semiconductor business and makeup for the slump in its smartphone
earnings.
Samsung according to sources is investing $14.7 billion in the plant.
Samsung hopes the world's biggest memory chip plant will enhance its
competitiveness in the semiconductor industry. The plant will be located
in Pyeongtaek, 75 km south of Seoul and will be completed by the second
half of 2017.
